The View from The Shard

Rising above the skyline like a crystal tower from a fantasy novel, The Shard is London's newest and most prominent landmark. Completed in 2013 as part of the city's development of the London Bridge area, the building was inspired, in part, by the painting of Canaletto which was featured on the water tower that once stood nearby on the river Thames.

Your experience begins in the futuristic elevator, which features a dazzling ceiling to soothe even the most nervous passengers and which makes your ascent into the London skies swift and smooth. Step out into the open air gallery and find the great city of London spread out below you. Telescopes allow you to explore the city, while built-in touch screens enable you to discover more about the sights you're viewing. Orientate yourself with the city stretching out below, or simply allow yourself to be awed by the unique views offered by this unrivalled vantage point. Before you leave, take some time to visit London's highest shop and browse The Sky Boutique. No matter how long you linger, you’ll never forget this vista of London’s seemingly endless skyline.

  • You may stay as long as you like during opening hours. We recommend allowing for at least one hour to get the most out of this experience.
• AVAILABILITY:
  • Summer (April - September): Open 9:00am to 10:00pm. Last admission 9:00pm
  • Winter (October - March): Sun-Wed: 10:00am to 7:00pm (last admission 5:30pm). Thu-Sat: 10:00am to 10:00pm (last admission 8:30pm)

  How to Get There:

  • By Bus: Bus lines 43, 48, 141, 149 and 521 stop outside the entrance at the London Bridge Station.
  • By the London Underground: The closest tube station is the London Bridge stop. From here it's a 2 minute walk to the entrance.
  • By Train: The nearest station is the London Bridge Station, which is directly behind the Shard.
• CANCELLATION POLICY:
  • Once booked, tickets will not be refunded. If poor weather prevents you from seeing at least three of the major landmarks, speak to staff at the ticket counter to be issued a free return ticket.
