Attending a show in London’s West End is always an exciting experience, and this is especially true at Christmas time. Grand displays of twinkling lights and seasonal decorations line Regent and Oxford Street and set a festive atmosphere, while Leicester Square and nearby Covent Garden are decked out with holiday cheer and fun markets.
Arriving along with the seasonal decorations this winter, however, is an extra special treat for theatre lovers. A new performance of Dicken’s beloved tale A Christmas Carol will be opening at the Noel Coward theatre on November 30th. Behind the production are some of the biggest names in theatre. Academy award winning star of screen and stage, Jim Broadbent, has teamed up once more with director Phelim McDermott and writer Patrick Barlow to breathe new life into this Christmas classic by Charles Dickens. Taking on the lead role as the miserly Scrooge, Broadbent along with his talented supporting cast, will bring to life the very spirit(s!) of Christmas in unexpected ways that only the creative genius of Barlow could have envisioned.
If you’re in London between November 30th, 2015 and January 30th, 2106 then don’t miss this perfect opportunity to get into the holiday spirit while ticking off the essential London experience of catching a West End show. Be sure to book your tickets early though, as they are expected to sell out quickly. Then wrap up in your warmest winter woolies and prepare for a magical evening.
If you have time to fill in before your show the Noel Coward theatre take a stroll around festive Leicester Square or walk over to Covent Garden where you can enjoy the sparkling and fun Christmas decorations and lively atmosphere while perhaps doing a bit a holiday shopping. Tickets are in high demand, so buy your tickets here before they’re gone!
