The holiday season is kicking into high gear as Christmas lights and decorations appear along the best shopping streets in London. This Saturday, November 9th the Regent Street Christmas Lights will be switched on – always a fun and festive event! The holiday decorations this year will feature Mr. Peabody and Sherman to celebrate the 2014 release of the animated film Mr. Peabody and Sherman. There to celebrate the Regent Street Christmas Light Switch On will be Emmy award wining actor Ty Burrell, who is the voice of Mr. Peabody in the upcoming film, along with the film’s director Rob Minkoff.
This year Regent Street will throw a day long celebration to launch the holiday season, with a fashion show at 3pm featuring well-known Regent Street fashion brands. Expect music and celebrities, too! This year the live entertainment will include Melanie C and Emma Bunton from the Spice Girls, Leona Lewis (winner of the UK show The X Factor), British singer Eliza Doolittle and the band Passenger.
The Christmas lights along Regent Street have been a London holiday tradition since 1948 when the Regent Street Association decorated the street for the first time.
